Finding my way has never been a straight shot—it’s been a series of steps forward, a few steps back (sometimes five), and plenty of course corrections along the way. But each turn, stumble, and unexpected detour led me exactly where I was
meant to be, even when I didn’t realize it at the time.
Fire after fire tore through our community, disrupting neighborhoods and displacing families. Wildfires weren’t new here, but this time, something felt different. As I worked directly with families, helping them rebuild and find stability, I formed deep emotional connections with the people behind each home. That experience changed me.
But when the builder I worked for transitioned to multifamily developments, my role shifted to coordinating with an apartment superintendent instead of working one-on-one with homeowners. That loss of personal connection made something clear: I didn’t just want to build houses—I wanted to help people find the right home, one that truly fit their lives, routines, and future.
That realization didn’t come out of nowhere. It was built, piece by piece, through years of experience in the housing industry.
I started in insurance, thinking I had a stable career, but when the 2008 financial crash hit, families had to make tough budget cuts, and life and health policies were often the first to go. Before I knew it, I needed a new career path. To top it off, I was a single mom, looking at this beautiful newborn boy who needed me to provide for him. It was A LOT; to say the least, I had no choice but to rebuild from the foundation up.
That’s when I found a job at build.com. At first, it was just survival, but I quickly realized how much I loved learning about homes—the materials, the finishes, the little details that made a space feel right. For six years, I soaked up everything I could about construction and design. During that time, I met my husband, Guy, a plumber. Hearing him talk every day about his work only furthered my interest in all aspects of real estate.
As much as I enjoyed the supply side, I wanted to be more hands-on. I became the first female outside sales rep for the construction company my husband worked for. From there, I moved into design and even launched a beautiful design center, and eventually moved to full-scale development, helping to build entire neighborhoods. I worked on 88 single-family homes and 400 apartment units, while I learned the intricacies of new construction. I loved the process, but something started to feel incomplete when my builder started focusing solely on apartments. Eventually, I realized I wasn’t connecting with the people inside the homes. I was focused on floor plans, not families.
That’s when my three fairy godmothers—these ladies know who they are—started working their magic. They saw something in me and knew my passion for housing, my deep understanding of design and functionality, and my ability to truly listen to people’s needs. They knew I was meant to be an agent. For months, they encouraged me—sometimes gently, sometimes persistently—to get my license.
And finally, in 2022, I became a REALTOR®. Now, I help people find the right home, sell their existing one with strategic marketing, and even assist in building dream homes, understanding the process from start to finish. By combining my diverse expertise with my love for people and the communities I serve, I strive to make a real impact. My husband and I also run our own construction company, Knight Building Corporation, allowing me to offer clients personalized solutions that truly fit their needs, no matter the project.
My creative side extends beyond my work. I love crafting, DIY projects, and reimagining spaces. We also spend a lot of time with our friends and family, and my three dogs, who never turn down attention. I also make time for volunteering, with one of my favorite organizations being Habitat for Humanity, helping low-income families with housing by securing
sponsorships, fundraising, and even putting on a tool belt to help!
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the right home is more than just walls and a roof—it’s where life happens, where stability begins. With a background in construction, design, and development, I work with each client to understand their goals and create a personalized experience. For buyers, I help spot the pros and cons of a home, estimate renovation costs, and most importantly, ensure the home fits their needs. I analyze properties for long-term value while keeping my client’s lifestyle and goals in mind, making sure the entire experience feels like an exciting new chapter—rather than an overwhelming task.
For sellers, strategy is key. Pricing is about more than just numbers; it’s about positioning your home to stand out in the market and telling the home's unique story. I guide you through pre-inspections, staging, and creative marketing to attract the right buyers quickly. With negotiations, contracts, and deadlines, I handle the details so you can focus on what comes next. I’ve been in the construction and real estate business for a long time, so I can, and happily will, take the stress off your shoulders. And if that means cracking a joke to ease the tension or distracting a restless toddler with the stash of bubbles I keep in my car, well, that’s just part of the fun!
Sincerely,

Alora Flucard
